Accessibility Statement
Effective Date: February 7, 2025
Circlio is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and strive to conform to accessibility standards.
Our Commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines provide a framework for making web content accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following features to support accessibility:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements (headings, landmarks, lists, buttons) to ensure screen readers and assistive technologies can interpret page structure
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard navigation (Tab, Enter, Escape, and arrow keys)
- ARIA Labels: Interactive elements include ARIA attributes for screen reader compatibility
- Color Contrast: We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios for text and interactive elements
- Responsive Design: The platform adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels
- Alt Text: Images include descriptive alternative text
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation
- Dark Mode: An alternative color scheme that may be more comfortable for some users
Known Limitations
While we work to ensure accessibility across the entire platform, some areas may have known limitations:
- User-uploaded images: Images uploaded by other users may not always include descriptive alt text
- Third-party content: Content embedded from third-party services may not meet our accessibility standards
- Real-time features: Live messaging and real-time notifications may have limited screen reader support in some browsers
- PDF documents: User-uploaded PDF files may not be accessible
We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility across all areas of the platform.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
Circlio is designed to be compatible with common assistive technologies, including:
- Screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser text resizing and zoom functionality
